Artist's Description

Walking along the ocean floor at low tide at hopewell rocks, we went past these rocks and then quickly stepped back. Three separate rock formations when seen from a certain point made the shape of a whale’s tail against the ocean. Later studying the image we also saw a bear head - do you see it? Everything in this landscape, has been carved by the forces of water and wind - storms and tides; ebb and flows. These unusual rock formations are seen at The Hopewell Rocks, also called the Flowerpots Rocks or simply The Rocks, and can range from 40 - 70 feet tall. Twice a day the tides (some of the highest in the world) completely cover the base of the rocks but at low tide it possible to walk the ocean floor

Moving to Toronto and then to Vancouver, BC, he was awestruck with the beauty of North America & the Pacific North West. One to always find beauty in nature, here he was in a special place and it was now home. He finds beauty in the rusted texture...
